About This Unit

The Butterworth OR is a level 1 trauma center and teaching hospital. The department consists of 21 operating rooms that provide 24/7 patient care, supporting procedures across the medical center in other departments. Our multidisciplinary team of anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses, surgical technicians and support technicians collaborate to deliver safe, high‑quality, patient‑centered care. The surgical team is trained in specialties such as orthopedic and neurosurgical trauma, acute care surgery, women’s health, urology, oncology, and general surgery.

We employ advanced technologies including DaVinci and Rosa robotics, Stealth‑guided navigation, and intra‑operative MRI to maintain safe and efficient patient care.

The RN works within the ANA scope of practice, following the nursing process to provide professional nursing care in a patient‑family centered model. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and discharge. Under the direction of the Nurse Leader and Corewell Health policies, the RN documents and applies clinical evidence, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, and develops teaching strategies for patients and families to document education and learning in the health record.

The RN partners with patients and families, incorporating their input and goals into the care plan.

• Associate’s degree in Nursing (required)
• Bachelor’s in Nursing (required)
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan (required)
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, within 90 days (required)
• 6–12+ months of RN experience preferred

Full time, day shift (7:00am–5:30pm, Monday–Friday). The position requires weekly scheduled work hours of 40, with on‑call weekends as needed.
