Director Emergency Services
Provides consistent leadership for the Emergency Department across two campuses and supports patient focused collaborative care in a shared governance environment. Responsible for coordinating, facilitating and integrating the optimal provision of cost-effective service in ED. In conjunction with this, other responsibilities include providing clinical expertise, customer service, and service recovery techniques. Full compliment of management responsibilities include planning human resource management, financial accountability, quality assessment and improvements, including regulatory compliance.
This position requires 24/7 accountability to the ED unit.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must be a graduate from an approved program in professional nursing, BSN required, Masters preferred (MS, MSN, MBA, MHA). Holds a current RN Michigan License or the ability to obtain Michigan license. Certification in Nursing Administration encouraged. The candidate must have a minimum of five years nursing experience with three years progressive level of nursing administrative experience. Experience working in a union environment is preferred.
Demonstrates the necessary ability and skill in the management of organizational change and continuous quality improvement processes. Evidence of creative and innovative approaches to achieving outcomes. Demonstrate ability to maintain effective working relationships with hospital leaders, staff and physicians. Demonstrate quantitative values based problem-solving and system thinking. Facilitate staff development through appropriate coaching, mentoring, and counseling. Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral.
Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing diverse perspectives. Ability to articulate and demonstrate commitment to the philosophy, values, mission, and vision of MHP. Seeking individual who will invest in integrating Shared Governance in both EDs and Critical Care.
Position leads ED, ICU, and Trauma Services. Over 100,000 ED visits annually.
Skills and certifications: BSN preferred, Masters prepared, experience with Emergency Services and/or critical care, director level experience.
Ideal candidate should have experience with multiple unions and worked for a high volume ED and Critical Care unit.
