School Nurse (Clinic RN

Job Qualifications:

Education, Training, Licensing and Credentialing

Required:

• Current unrestricted license from the Michigan Board of Nurse Examiners to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Current basic life support (BLS) certification or ACLS certification

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in nursing

Required:

• Minimum of two (2) years full-time work experience in direct patient care as an RN
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and connect with pediatric populations
• Experience providing health-related education to students/patients of varying ages
• Experience or ability to effectively present information in small group situations to students, parent/guardians, providers, staff, and others
• Experience using office equipment including but not limited to computers, fax machines, multi-line telephone and copiers and possess effective typing skills
• Experience utilizing an electronic health record
• Functional abilities using Microsoft Office products

Preferred:

• Previous experience working in a school-based health clinic or program
• Previous experience providing direct patient care with pediatric populations or working in a pediatric clinic
• Experience using both eCW and Azara
• Experience utilizing telehealth equipment
• Experience developing educational programs on health-related topics
• Experience and comfort level in public speaking
• Prior work experience working at a Federally Qualified Health Center or other integrated clinic setting that provides medical, dental, and behavioral health services or a combination of these services.
