Support nurses and other staff in providing competent care of patients requiring ventilator support and life-sustaining medications; assist with bedside procedures including tracheostomy prep, central line placement, and dressing changes; perform patient care tasks such as checking blood sugars, vitals, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization; act as safety attendant for patients; ensure timely and accurate documentation; may be floated to other departments with similar training;

orientation includes 8-12 weeks of ICU-specific training
