Trinity Health is a leading provider of mental health and behavioral services dedicated to supporting individuals in their journey to mental well-being. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at our Behavioral Health Crisis Center.
With a shared vision Trinity Health Grand Rapids and Network 180 are standing up a Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC), including a Crisis Stabilization Unit and a Behavioral Health Brief Intervention service to serve residents of Kent County. As an RN at our Behavioral Health Crisis Center, you will play a crucial role in the assessment, intervention, and care of individuals experiencing acute behavioral crises.
Your expertise will contribute to creating a safe and supportive environment for clients in need, as well as collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals.
Full-time 36 hours per week Night shift
What you will do- Conduct thorough assessments of clients' physical and mental health status upon admission.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other team members to develop personalized crisis intervention and stabilization plans.
- Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by medical professionals.
- Monitor clients' progress and respond effectively to changes in their condition.
- Provide emotional support, psychoeducation, and coping strategies to clients and their families.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation and records.
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing school and program Associates Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred.
- In Grand Rapids if ADN must enroll in BSN program within 6 months of hire and complete in 4 years of hire.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in a mental health or crisis intervention setting.
- Strong understanding of mental health conditions, crisis intervention techniques, and trauma-informed care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick and informed decisions.
- Empathetic and nonjudgmental approach to working with individuals in crisis.
