Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation is a nationally recognized leader in inpatient rehabilitation, delivering hospital-level care for patients with complex medical needs. Our Inpatient Acute Rehab Medically Complex Unit specializes in caring for patients recovering from cardiac conditions, cancer‑related diagnoses, and other medically complex illnesses who require intensive rehabilitation with close medical oversight.
About the RoleAs an RN in inpatient acute rehab you will provide comprehensive nursing care including patient assessments, care planning, medication administration, and clinical coordination for medically complex patients. You will collaborate closely with LPNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary therapy teams to manage higher‑acuity conditions, support intensive rehabilitation, and drive safe discharge planning.

EssentialJob Responsibilities
- Staff will provide patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of their license, certification or registration and as required by law and regulation.
- Quality Nursing Care: Responsible for all nursing care provided to patients at Mary Free Bed. Through careful assessment, interdisciplinary collaboration, and critical thinking, each RN develops and/or follows a patient‑centered plan of care that aligns with the priorities and plans developed by the attending physician and other disciplines. The RN coordinates care for non‑licensed staff through delegation and follow‑up to ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in performance improvement through identification of ways to improve care, reporting unexpected events or medical errors, and reporting near misses. Assist with data collection and documentation audits to support quality improvement measures.
- Patient Safety: Promote safety for all patients by following applicable department policies and procedures and by identifying and reporting unexpected events and near misses. Communicate safety concerns to the Nursing Leadership Team promptly.
- Customer Service: Demonstrate excellent customer service standards and behaviors while interacting with patients, family members, physicians, and colleagues. Discreetly handle confidential information and perform customer service recovery when necessary. Recognize unique cultural and religious needs and incorporate them into a patient‑specific plan of care that exceeds expectations.
- Physician and Colleague Relationships: Maintain effective working relationships with admitting and consulting physicians and other interdisciplinary team members. Foster professional relationships among colleagues across disciplines.
