Where Is The WorkOn-Site (5 days)
What You Will Do- Execute Component Risk Assessment procedure for all new PPAP tasks: SPDCR, RTS, NDP, Relocation, VAVE projects, etc. to define the PPAP level that will be requested to the suppliers (according to BOS CRA procedure).
- Notify the suppliers and internal peers of the PPAP level for parts, send the PPAP package (PSW complete file) to the supplier, and handle all PPAP tasks in Windchill.
- Evaluate PPAPs according to engineering drawings and Trane Technologies specifications. Evaluations include dimensional and compliance with Trane Specs: metallurgical results, chemical analysis, hardness, functional test results (Hipot, continuity, polarity, burst test, etc.).
- Execute Fit, Form and Function for components and obtain the approval signatures from manufacturing engineers, product engineers, production supervisors, and SQE.
- Notify PPAP status to suppliers and project members.
- Complete P-24 in Windchill system according to the criteria.
- Identify critical features in new drawings to start requesting monthly reports (CP and CPK) to the suppliers.
- Read and interpret engineering requirements from text and drawings.
- Use a variety of tools, precision‑measuring instruments, and volt meters.
- Conduct technical quality assurance inspections and use results to improve production processes and standards.
- Participate actively in root cause analysis and problem solving.
- Interface with engineering and production departments to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and develop rework/repair instructions and procedures.
- Maintain clean, accurate data and documentation of all non‑conforming material detected in production; perform, follow up, train and maintain the NCM process.
- Perform inspection and audit duties on a variety of parts/units involving first‑piece, in‑process and final inspection.
- Be responsible for attending and updating MDI teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- This position will be part of the Quality team that supports Trane’s manufacturing and engineering operations at our Grand Rapids facility.

- We work collaboratively to build strong relationships with our internal and external teams. You will report to Supplier Quality Engineering and collaborate with other operations and quality team members.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with an associate degree in a technical field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in quality areas.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with quality measurement tools, including dimensional and electrical measuring equipment.
- Ability to learn CMM and GDT as a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
$27.71 per hour
