Role Description The Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Programmer is a full-time, onsite role based in Muskegon, MI. This role is responsible for programming and operating CMM equipment to perform precise dimensional inspections of components and assemblies. Day-to-day tasks include developing and optimizing CMM programs, setting up measurement routines, performing inspections, and documenting results in accordance with quality standards. The individual will work closely with engineering and production teams to interpret drawings and specifications, troubleshoot measurement issues, and support root cause analysis for nonconformances.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining calibration schedules for measurement equipment, contributing to continuous improvement of inspection processes, and ensuring compliance with company and industry quality requirements.

Qualifications

• CMM programming and operation experience, with strong skills in measurements and use of precision gauges.
• Background in quality control practices, including inspection planning and documentation of results.
• Knowledge of calibration procedures for measurement tools and equipment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to work both independently and in team settings.
• Proficiency with relevant CMM software and basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or aerospace/automotive environment is beneficial.
• Associate degree or technical certification in manufacturing, engineering technology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
