Sr Supplier Qual Engineer
Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a Sr Supplier Qual Engineer with our medical device client in Grand Rapids, MI. This is a 12-month contract with a potential for extension.
Pay: $45.00 - $55.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.

Successful Sr Supplier Quality Engineers combine technical expertise, problem-solving, and collaboration to drive supplier quality and continuous improvement. We are seeking a Sr Supplier Quality Engineer II to support the Supplier Quality organization at our Grand Rapids, MI manufacturing site. This role will monitor supplier performance, resolve supplier quality issues, support quality initiatives, and drive continuous improvement across suppliers supporting our Cardiac Surgery portfolio.
The Grand Rapids site manufactures approximately 600 products, including cannulae and beating heart devices. The SQE II will partner with engineering, operations, and supplier quality teams to investigate supplier issues, support corrective and preventive actions, participate in supplier development, and maintain quality system compliance. This role is ideal for a supplier quality professional who enjoys collaboration, technical problem-solving, and developing expertise in supplier quality and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Ensures that suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services.
- Qualifies suppliers according to company standards and may administer a Certified Supplier Program in receiving inspection to ensure cost effectiveness.
- Monitors parts from acquisition through the manufacturing cycle and communicates and resolves supplier-related problems as they occur.
- Develops and prioritizes an auditing schedule to ensure that designated suppliers are audited on a regular basis to ensure good manufacturing practices (GMP) and quality standards are met.
- Evaluates suppliers' internal functions to assess their overall performance and provides feedback in assessment of their operation
Must Have:
- Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA) using Track Wise or similar QMS software, Nonconformance, Change control, Deviations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Hands-on product problem solving experience.
- Technical engineering background such as Mechanical, Industrial, Operations or biomedical experience
Nice to Have:
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt
- Greenbelt Certification
Education Required:
Minimum of a completed bachelor's degree
