The Nowinski Lab is seeking a full-time Assistant Research Technician to be a key part of our research team. The research focus of our lab explores the molecular and cellular mechanisms that control mitochondrial function, cell metabolism, and metabolic programming across various tissues and cell types, including skeletal muscle, immune cells, and the brain. Work in the laboratory is conducted across multiple levels, including in vitro assays, mammalian cell lines, and mouse  this role, you will be provided training for the following responsibilities:

Maintaining and handling cell cultures and mice Molecular and cell biology techniques as dictated by project needs (i.e. plasmid cloning, Western blots, immunofluorescence staining)
Mouse genotyping

Assisting with general laboratory maintenance

Detailed record keeping and adherence to protocols

Successful candidates for this position will have the following qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Cell/Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related biomedical fields

Prior wet lab bench experience is preferred, but not required

Excellent interpersonal skills and patience

Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as an active member of an integrated team Demonstrable written and oral communication skills
