Responsibilities

An SP+ Cashier will create an efficient, stress‑free, and enjoyable experience for each customer. This includes receiving payment for parking services and facilitating the flow of traffic through the facility.

  • Treat each customer with respect and kindness, ensuring each interaction delivers on the SP+ Promise.
  • Be present and on time for every scheduled shift, in uniform and ready to assist customers.
  • Count the “bank” of revenue at the beginning of each shift to ensure the starting total is correct.
  • Collect cash or validations and maintain the security of cash.
  • Makes change and issues receipts or tickets for each transaction.
  • Compute or re‑compute the bill from a ticket showing the amount due.
  • Operate the cash register, calculating the cost of each transaction, and display the cost on the register.
  • Quote prices for parking services when money is received upon customer receipt.
  • Give directions to city locations and assist customers so they reach their destinations efficiently.
  • Complete lost ticket forms when the original ticket cannot be located.
  • Resolve customer complaints quickly and efficiently, requesting supervisor assistance when needed.
  • Answer the telephone promptly and courteously.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the booth and pick up trash in the surrounding area.
  • Conduct timely checks to ensure a proper inventory of necessary work aids and supplies is located in the booth.
  • Verify the log of shift transactions against the bank of revenue on hand.
  • Compile the collected revenue during the day once a predetermined amount has been met.
  • Record amounts received, cars in/out of the facility, and cars left in the facility while preparing the shift report of transactions.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications What you need

Education and/or

Experience:

Less than a high school education or up to one month of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination.

Availability to Work: Special shift requirements may vary. Availability for 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and/or weekends may be required.

License Requirement: A valid state‑issued driver’s license, current address, and acceptable driving record may be required if the role involves driving a company vehicle or working on company business.

Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; ability to make change.

Language skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to present information effectively in one‑on‑one and small‑group settings to customers, clients, supervisors, and other employees.

Reasoning ability: Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but standard written or oral instructions and handle problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other skills and abilities: Ability to use a clock (standard/military time), calculator (optional), or credit card machine for transactions; maintain a pleasant demeanor on the telephone and with the public; effectively respond to customer problems or complaints.

Physical demands: Regularly required to sit, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to walk and sit. Specific vision abilities include close vision. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to individuals with disabilities.
