The Assistant Team Leader provides leadership for the successful operation of the entire front‑end of the store. Ollie’s Assistant Team Leader helps lead a retail sales team that’s passionate about selling merchandise and ensures a good customer experience. Responsibilities include Associate development, customer service, asset protection, and store maintenance.
Primary Responsibilities- Assist the Store Team Leader with managing payroll, budgets, expenses, store banking, shrink reduction, and related reports to meet financial and operational goals.
- Ensure that store standards, Redbook compliance, and company programs meet operational expectations.
- Maintain front‑end, entrance, and exterior of the building.
- Assign daily tasks to Associates and ensure productivity.
- Organize and maintain office areas.
- Support the Door to Floor process and merchandising initiatives.
- Complete monthly Operational Risk Assessment (ORA) and alarm test; ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Lead monthly safety meetings with Associates and assess changes from the meetings.
- Maintain customer service standards.
- Handle price changes as required by the company.
- Coach, train, develop, evaluate, supervise, and schedule store Associates.
- Perform Team Leader functions to open and close the store as needed.
- Lead Associates on donation programs and Ollie’s Army sign‑ups and memberships.
- Hire, recruit, interview, select, and onboard new candidates to meet staffing needs.
- Perform any additional responsibilities as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2 years of retail supervisory experience in a mid‑size to large retail or service‑oriented business.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on a regular basis.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Professional work environment management skills.
- Sound judgment and ability to preserve confidentiality.
- Accuracy, attention to detail.
- Organizational and prioritization skills within strict time frames and deadlines.
- Knowledge of industry terms and processes.

- Work in a constant state of alertness and safety. Must operate a motor vehicle with a valid state license.
