Retail & Store Manager, Stocking
Position Summary
Lead day-to-day operations of a retail store department, ensuring associates are trained, the department is fully staffed, operates at company standards, and meets all company goals and key performance indicators.
Responsibilities- Order and maintain inventory, using inventory control procedures to ensure product freshness and quality.
- Review and validate received orders for amount, quality, count or weight, condition, and ensure all product is stored appropriately.
- Manage a team to complete stocking, production, and additional tasks to ensure product quality, production planning, accuracy, and date-sensitive rotation; handle spoiled/damaged products per guidelines.
- Maintain familiarity with all products carried in the department and throughout the store, including advertised items, special prices, coupon deals, and other sales and rewards program features.
- Communicate and execute weekly and period Flight Plan to meet company expectations and timelines.
- Use scheduling tools and software to manage labor control, overtime control, and payroll expense for the department.
- Implement "Our Winning Recipe" and model core values and competencies.
- Oversee department staffing, training, performance management, and career development of associates.
- Develop and monitor department goals and forecasts as required.
- Participate in daily huddles, manager meetings, and district or company-level meetings via phone, online, or in person as needed.
- Maintain a clean, attractive, well-stocked department, following the structure of the day guidelines and "Prime Time" standards.
- Ensure food safety and all safety guidelines are always followed; take immediate corrective action if not followed.
- Develop and implement plans that result in meeting company goals and key performance indicators.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
- High School Graduate (or GED); work experience preferred.
- Two years of retail experience preferred.
- One year supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bookkeeping skills.
- Excellent organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving, and conflict management skills.
- Strong leadership abilities and a hands-on approach.
- Good strategic planning and business acumen.
- Knowledge of retail store operations and retail management systems.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Spanish language communication desirable (depending on location).
May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally; stand and walk for extended periods; bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently; work in a typical retail store environment with varied temperatures and moderate noise. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
