Job SummaryWe are seeking a driven Construction Business Development Representative to play a key role in expanding our commercial construction portfolio. This individual will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong industry relationships, and driving strategic growth initiatives. The ideal candidate understands the commercial construction landscape and thrives in a relationship-focused, results-driven environment.
Job Responsibilities- Identify and pursue new commercial construction opportunities within target markets and industry sectors
- Research prospective clients, upcoming developments, capital projects, and emerging construction needs
- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline, tracking progress within a CRM system
- Monitor regional market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments
Build and maintain relationships with owners, developers, architects, engineers, brokers, and key stakeholders - Attend networking events, trade shows, industry conferences, and association meetings to generate leads and increase brand visibility
- Collaborate with estimating and preconstruction teams to develop proposals, qualifications packages, and client presentations
- Support RFQ/RFP submissions and assist with presentations for negotiated and design-build opportunities
- Facilitate smooth handoff of awarded projects to internal delivery teams while maintaining ongoing client relationships
- Provide regular reporting on pipeline activity, forecasting, and sales results to leadership
- Contribute strategic insights regarding market positioning and growth initiatives
- 3+ years of business development or sales experience within commercial construction, general contracting, or a related industry preferred
- Strong understanding of commercial construction processes and key project stakeholders
- Proven ability to develop and manage a sales pipeline and close opportunities
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage decision-makers and executives
- Experience using CRM systems and tracking sales activity
- Self-motivated, strategic thinker with the ability to work independently
- Collaborative team player comfortable working cross-functionally with estimating, preconstruction, and leadership teams
- Professional presence and ability to represent the company at industry events and client meetings
