Job DescriptionExecute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage sales performance, effectively manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships and customer needs‑solving capability to maximize short‑ and long‑term sales performance, placing the patient at the center of all efforts and operating within Abb Vie’s business code of conduct, policies, and all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed those objectives.
- Create pre‑call plans using SMART objectives and execute post‑call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance.
- Effectively handle objections, misunderstandings, and concerns to consistently gain logical and reasonable calls to action in order to close every sales call.
- Proactively and continuously serve customer needs, expectations, and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win‑win agreements between Abb Vie and customers.
- Develop and execute call plans that achieve set call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, product, clinical, and sales expertise, and share this intelligence with the in‑field team, brand team, and sales manager to align, anticipate environmental changes, and optimize brand strategy and execution.
- Differentiates Abb Vie’s value proposition with assigned health providers and identifies, develops, and maintains disease‑state experts and ambassadors to maximize brand performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business‑related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required.
- Relevant and equivalent industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree requires at least five (5) years of experience, with at least three (3) years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry, and a high school diploma/GED is required.
- Proven track record of leadership success, solid presentation skills, strong business acumen, and proficiency with business tools; strategic and critical thinking capabilities required.
- Proactively identifies customer style/behavior and adapts quickly all aspects of the selling approach; operates effectively in a matrix environment.
- Preferred:
Proven track record of sales performance success in the relevant therapeutic areas. - Preferred:
Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience such as physician/account‑based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing. - Preferred:
Demonstrates in‑depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge and is recognized as an expert resource by all relevant stakeholders. - Preferred:
English language proficiency orally and in writing (for all non‑English‑speaking countries). - An essential requirement is to satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations in your assigned territory. You must also be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain these credentials.
- HCIR credentialing may include background checks, drug screens, proof of immunization/vaccination for various diseases, fingerprinting, and specific licenses required by individual state or city. You are solely responsible for ensuring you satisfy all HCIR credentialing requirements and for any associated liability for failing to do so. Abb Vie has resources to help answer questions.
- The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of posting based on the job grade. Individual compensation within this range will depend on many factors, including geographic location.
