Campus Safety Dispatcher (Full Time)
To act as a communications center coordinator to maintain campus safety and security.
Qualifications:- Must be 18 years old or older
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Must obtain and maintain standard first aid and CPR certification by then end of first semester of employment
- Trustworthy
- Must possess and demonstrate good oral and written communication skills
- Must be available to work flexible hours including nighttime and weekend hours
- Must be in good physical condition, have eyesight correctable to 20/20, and be able to work in all weather conditions
- Must successfully complete training program prior to final appointment
- Must pass criminal history background check
- Must be able to go up and down flights of stairs
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Must pass Aquinas College Approved Driver check
- Must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations
- Relay pertinent information to various personnel when it concerns responsibilities to the department
- Dispatch and coordinate field officers via two way radio
- Handle all telephone communications to the department
- Handle college switchboard
- Implement emergency procedures as necessary, including contacting emergency services
- Record all shift activity on departmental log
- Type criminal complaints, maintenance requests, letters, memorandums, etc.
- Maintain log of Request Not To Tickets
- Relay pertinent information to shift personnel, including but not limited to keeping field officers informed of events and responsibilities
- File reports, vehicle registrations, and traffic citations
- Provide general information to students and visitors
- Option to cross train as patrol officer
- Monitor security systems on computer and cameras
