Journeyman Electrician

The Master Electrician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical systems, including system modifications on plant equipment and facilities. The role involves working on electrical systems up to 480 volts at the Hillsdale location.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install and monitor performance of electrical equipment, addressing hazards, and making adjustments or replacements.
• Create, maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair various equipment in the plant.
• Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools, including control hardware like PLCs and HMIs.
• Partner with machine operators on automation troubleshooting to improve efficiency.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and blueprints.
• Fabricate and weld parts as needed.
• Lead, train, and guide other electricians or maintenance personnel in procedures and techniques.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance, including repairs to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
• Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Promote safety and environmental best practices.
• Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current State of Michigan Master Electrician certification and maintenance of this certification.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and 5S methodologies.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in hot, humid, and cold environments.
• Ability to crouch, kneel, and stoop for extended periods.
• Ability to climb ladders as needed.
