Facilities Handyman & Construction Technician
Williams Distributing is seeking a skilled, hands-on Facilities & Construction Technician to support maintenance, construction, and facility improvement projects across multiple Williams locations throughout Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana.
This role is ideal for someone with broad construction and handyman experience who enjoys problem solving, building, repairing, and improving spaces. The position will support day-to-day facility needs while also leading special projects such as showroom builds, wall construction, cabinetry installation, trade show setup, repairs, and general property improvements.
The Facilities & Construction Technician will work as part of the facilities team while taking ownership of projects and helping ensure Williams locations remain safe, functional, and professionally maintained.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general building maintenance, repair, and facility improvement projects across Williams locations
- Construct walls, framing, cabinetry, displays, and other interior buildouts as needed
- Install and maintain showroom kitchen, bath, hearth, and product displays
- Troubleshoot and resolve general construction, maintenance, and facility-related issues
- Support trade show setup, teardown, transportation, and display preparation
- Perform minor plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, flooring, and carpentry repairs
- Coordinate facility projects with internal departments, vendors, and leadership teams
- Assist with preventative maintenance activities and facility inspections
- Ensure work areas, tools, and projects are completed safely and professionally
- Travel between company locations as needed to support operational and facility priorities
3+ years of handyman, facilities, construction, carpentry, or maintenance experience preferred
Experience with framing, cabinetry installation, drywall, painting, and general construction practices strongly preferred
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
Ability to travel between Williams locations and occasional trade show events
Strong troubleshooting, organization, and time management skills
Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with team members
Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and general maintenance equipment
Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple projects
Demonstrates professionalism, initiative, sound judgment, and a strong work ethic
Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work actively throughout the day
Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials and equipment up to 50 lbs
Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and construction equipment
Comfortable working in warehouse, showroom, office, and active construction environments
Ability to travel and work at multiple facility locations as needed
