Controls Technician (3rd Shift, 11p - 7a)
The Controls Technician plays a key role in maintaining and supporting automated manufacturing equipment by troubleshooting controls-related issues and ensuring systems operate reliably. This position works with PLCs, servo systems, sensors, industrial networks, vision systems, and electrical control panels to reduce downtime, improve equipment performance, and support production goals. The Controls Technician partners closely with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently while meeting regulatory and quality requirements.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and resolve issues involving PLC-controlled equipment
- Troubleshoot servo motors, drives, and motion control systems
- Identify and address industrial network communication issues involving Ethernet/IP, Device Net, Profi Net
- Support machine vision systems
- Respond to production downtime events and provide technical support to restore equipment operation.
- Verify proper wiring, labeling, terminal integrity, and panel organization.
- Lead or support controls-related projects and equipment upgrades.
- Assist with installation, startup, commissioning, and validation of new automation equipment.
- Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities related to equipment and controls failures.
- Update electrical drawings, controls documentation, and network diagrams as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience supporting industrial automation, controls, or electrical systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
- Experience and working knowledge of PLC Platforms (Allen-Bradley Control Logix/Compact Logix preferred).
- Experience with servo systems and motion control.
- Ability to read and interpret ladder logic.
- Team player on the production floor.
Night Shift: Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
Must maintain reliable attendance and follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements. Incredibly clean work environment in a newer building.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Walker, MI.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $37.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
