Operations Services, Inc. is an established services provider in the water and wastewater treatment services market, we manage, operate, and develop solutions for municipal, commercial and industrial clients in Michigan and several other states within the US. We provide management services for utilities, and specialized water treatment plants, industrial pretreatment, private developer services, billing services, grinder/lift station installations, repairs and maintenance.

The position in based in Waters Michigan.

JOB TITLE:

LIFT STATION/PUMP MAINTENANCE TECHNITION

This position performs work of a skilled nature which requires special training, education, and experience. Must have knowledge and skills in several trades such as plumbing, electrical, and mechanical maintenance. Operates a variety of specialty equipment; makes repairs and adjustments to wastewater treatment processes and collection system in accordance with EGLE regulations; performs chemical tests and collects water quality samples to assure water compliance;

operates and maintains lift stations and pumping stations; assignments are received from supervisor but employees in this class are expected to exercise a great deal of judgment in selecting work methods, equipment, material, and planning.

$27.00 to $35.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.

Position is 40 hours a week Monday – Friday. Weekend work will be required. Additionally, the candidate will be part of an on-call rotation.

• Safety focus (Safe Work Practices, Safe Operating Procedures) is your top priority; core safety skills training will be provided.
• Monitors and adjusts lift stations and grinder stations for select clients.
• Maintains and repairs electrical controls.
• Ability and willingness to rebuild pumps onsite and in our pump rebuilding facility.
• Water and Wastewater sample collection maybe performed.
• Operates and/or directs the use of division specific equipment in which employee is qualified. Skilled in use and operation of division's safety equipment such as air monitors, SCBA, and personal protective equipment.
• Maintains records, inventory supply lists, and log entries.
• Investigates and resolves customer problems and complaints.
• Thorough knowledge of the Department’s Standard Operating Procedures and Safety Practices.
• Assists in emergencies such as floods and wind or rain storms.
• Performs unskilled and semi-skilled laboring tasks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance work and operates a variety of equipment in the construction, repair, maintenance and replacement of utility infrastructure. Determines tools and materials needed for assignments. Uses and cares for tools and equipment used by the Company. Monitors contractors and provides contract oversight. Investigates and resolves customer service requests relating to the Company Projects. Assists the Supervisor with administrative functions.

Performs other duties as assigned. Operates specialized heavy equipment or storm response tools such as a chain saw or mobile water pump as needed. May act as Supervisor in the Supervisors absence. May include direct contact with residents.

• Education equivalent to a high school diploma.
• A minimum of two years of experience in a water or wastewater treatment facility with a thorough knowledge of skilled maintenance and construction work.
• Must demonstrate two years of lift station/grinder station maintenance, rebuilding, sales and thorough knowledge of control panel troubleshooting.
• Possession of a valid State of Michigan Driver’s License.
