As the Lead Cable Technician, you'll be the go-to person in the field.
- Lead and direct cable installation crews
- Assign daily tasks and keep projects moving
- Work directly with customers, contractors and project managers
- Install, terminate, label and test structured cabling
- Troubleshoot installation and connectivity issues
- Read blueprints, floor plans and network diagrams
- Maintain organized racks, cabinets, pathways and telecom rooms
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met
- Train and mentor junior technicians
- Make sure projects are completed safely, correctly and on schedule
We're looking for someone with:
- 2-5 years of structured cabling experience
- At least 2 years leading crews or field projects
- Strong knowledge of low-voltage systems
- Experience with Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber and/or coax
- Ability to read construction drawings and technical documents
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to travel locally to customer sites
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work on ladders, lifts and in construction environments
These are a PLUS, but not required:
- BICSI certification
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Fiber installation and testing
- Access control systems
- Security cameras
- Wireless systems
- Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, healthcare or commercial environments
