POSITION SUMMARY

The Parent/Baby Program Supervisor is  responsible for supervising Youth Development Specialists (YDS) and overseeing the implementation and ongoing daily activities in the Parent/Baby residential program. This position will develop and cultivate a robust community partnership function where parenting youth have opportunities for frequent engagement with external programs to ensure ongoing support in their parenting journey once they discharge from the program.

Program Supervisors support staff in keeping youth (and their children) physically and emotionally safewhileproviding exceptional service according to established plans and regulatory standards.

Program Supervisorsensurethe Youth Development Specialistsareengagingin activities and furthering the impact of treatment goals, specifically ensuring youth and their children experience opportunities for community engagement.

This role requires an ability to develop therapeutic relationships withyouth, engage and support staff,and partner with internal and external colleagues.

This position also requires the ability to be flexible in scheduling and provide on-call crisis support.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Direct supervision of YDS including regular performance management, individual supervision, and coaching in accordance with established Agency policies and practice.
  • Ensure all documentation and paperworkisaccurately completed
  • Support onboardingand training of youth development specialists
  • Coach and model

    Sanctuary with daily tasks, program development, and staff/youth engagement.
  • Ensure medications are accurately distribute din accordance withDABSJ policies and procedures.
  • Ability to be available foron-call duties.
  • Model and coach de-escalation and coping skills for Youth Development Specialists.
  • Ensure restrictive interventions are done according to agency and state policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Attend all required meetings.
  • Facilitate a therapeutic environment that focuses on the youth’s treatment plan usingatrauma-responsiveapproach.
  • Provide program leadership for staff.
  • Facilitate a culture of exceptional client care which meets or exceeds contract, licensing, and accreditation standards.
  • Provide coaching and leadership fordevelopmentspecialistsincluding strategies that build capacity to respond effectively tothe needsof the youth.
  • Participate in interviewingyouthdevelopment specialist candidates.
  • Develop andmaintaina working knowledge and understanding of all relevant contract, accreditation, and regulatory standards and ensure the work of development specialists meets those standards.
