Grand Rapids Kroc Center - Fitness Attendant

Fitness Attendants will supervise participants and programs in the fitness center which includes the cardiovascular, weight machine, free weight, track, personal training and fitness desk area

Responsibilities:

Provide general supervision of the fitness center

* Provide information and answer questions about available drop-in classes, programs, events and equipment.

* Provide fitness floor orientations by request and tours to prospective new members.

* Check in 12-15 year old patrons who have passed the Teen Fit Permit class.

* Perform class and program check-in procedures.

* Maintain accurate equipment check in and out procedures.

* Complete hourly headcounts and shift checklists as assigned.

* Enforce all safety guidelines that pertain to the fitness center.

Maintain the cleanliness and operation of the fitness equipment

* Clean and inspect all fitness equipment as specified.

* Report all equipment breakdowns according to stated procedure.

* Repair equipment as instructed and trained.

* Return all equipment to their proper location

* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

* A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

* Pursuing or having a bachelor's degree in exercise science, kinesiology, physical education or related field preferred.

* Be able to read, write and communicate in English with the preferred ability to also communicate in Spanish.

* Be able to lift and carry 40lbs.
