Job Description

General

Summary:

We are seeking experienced and dependable bus drivers to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting passengers along designated routes in a safe and timely manner. You must adhere to all traffic laws and company regulations while providing excellent customer service to our passengers.

Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Training and

    Experience:

    CDL preferred, but not required, willing to train
  • High School/Trade School degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
Essential Job Functions
  • Safely Transporting Students: Driving a school bus and ensuring the safe transportation of students to and from school, field trips, and other activities.
  • Following Traffic Laws: Adhering strictly to traffic laws and school bus regulations to ensure the safety of passengers and other road users.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Conducting routine inspections and maintenance checks on the bus to ensure it is safe and in good working condition.
  • Emergency Procedures: Knowing and implementing emergency procedures in case of accidents, breakdowns, or other emergencies.
  • Communication: Maintaining effective communication with students, parents, school staff, and transportation authorities.
  • Monitoring Students: Ensuring that students behave appropriately and safely while on the bus, maintaining discipline when necessary.
  • Route Familiarity: Being familiar with the assigned route and ensuring timely arrival and departure from stops.
  • Paperwork and Documentation: Completing required paperwork, such as daily logs, incident reports, and mileage records.
  • Training and Development: Participating in ongoing training and development programs related to driving skills, safety procedures, and student management.

  • Director of Transportation
Terms of Employment
  • Follows the Transportation Collective Bargaining Agreement
Evaluation
  • Annually by the Director of Transportation

Position Type: Part-Time
