Position OverviewWe are seeking a motivated Warehouse Lead to join our Grand Rapids team on a day shift (Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm). The role reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and will work closely with shipping and receiving staff.
Essential Functions- Supervise picker/packer personnel to ship orders on schedule.
- Communicate daily with Shipping Supervisors about concerns and questions.
- Print orders and sort them into proper zones by priority.
- Train and lead employees on proper picking and packing procedures.
- Delegate work to shipping staff, including cleaning and other duties.
- Follow up with shipping staff to ensure procedures are followed.
- Maintain dock and pick areas organized and clean.
- Work with receiving staff to eliminate zero stock issues.
- Research pick errors and collaborate with Shipping Supervisor to resolve them.
- Operate across all areas of shipping: picking, packing, ship station, running orders, and manifests.
- Lead dock personnel in offloading trucks; ensure P.O.s are properly organized on dock or racks.
- Communicate daily with Receiving Supervisor about concerns, questions, and status updates.
- Maintain the Receiving Log, ensuring it is up‑to‑date and properly completed.
- Train and lead employees on proper receiving procedures.
- Delegate work to receiving staff.
- Follow up with receiving staff to verify adherence to procedures.
- Maintain dock and all receiving areas organized and clean.
- Research exceptions on receivers through spot checks.
- Enter receivers into the system and process exceptions.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Dependable attendance and a team‑oriented attitude.
- Prior forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Basic computer skills are helpful.
- Prior warehouse experience is a plus.
The role requires standing, walking, bending, balancing, and use of arms and hands to reach, pull, push, clasp, and move materials. Walkways are concrete and/or metal grating. The employee may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently. The warehouse environment can be hot, cold, and dusty. Employees may be exposed to high, precarious places.
Compensation and BenefitsAnticipated starting pay range: $21.00 to $22.00 per hour. Actual base pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, and business needs.
