DescriptionA Shipping and Receiving Associate brings passion and expertise in distribution, forklift operation, or picking and packing to the production floor. The role involves operating a Hi‑Lo racking system for safe, efficient product movement and managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Adaptability is required, as the associate may perform various functions based on daily needs while maintaining a strong focus on safety, product quality, and teamwork.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Receiving incoming shipments, processing them in the ERP system, and routing material to the appropriate destination.
- Preparing incoming outsourced and in‑house finished parts for secondary operations.
- Preparing shippers for outgoing items.
- Determining shipment methods using knowledge of shipping procedures.
- Scheduling trucks through third‑party shipping, both internally and internationally.
- Preparing shipments for domestic and international distribution.
- Ensuring proper documentation of receivables and shipments.
- Assembling wooden or cardboard containers or selecting pre‑assembled containers, inserting items, and using spacers, fillers, and protective padding.
- Unpacking and examining incoming shipments, rejecting damaged items, recording shortages, and coordinating with shippers to rectify damages and shortages.
- Tracking and maintaining inventory within the ERP system and on the plant floor.
- Delivering and picking up shipments to local vendors and customers.
- Following supervisor instructions quickly and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Performing additional shop duties as required by the company.

The physical demands include light activity and occasional lifting or moving of up to 30 pounds, with a requirement for close vision and depth perception.
