About this positionPOSITION SUMMARY: The Client Service Specialist is a customer-focused role that serves as a trusted advisor to our customers, assisting with banking needs such as account management, financial guidance, and product inquiries. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of banking products, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities- Provide exceptional, personalized service to every client, anticipating and addressing needs with tailored solutions.
- Engage with clients to understand financial goals, giving personalized solutions and recommendations.
- Assist clients with account openings, closures, updates, and general inquiries, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain deep knowledge of bank products and services to educate customers and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Process transactions (deposits, withdrawals, transfers) accurately and efficiently.
- Offer basic financial advice (budgeting, savings strategies) to help clients achieve objectives.
- Cross‑sell and promote relevant bank products and services.
- Ensure strict adherence to all banking regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions, transactions, and account updates.
- Provide excellent service quality, contributing to overall client service initiatives.
- Adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced retail environment.
- Balances processed efficiently and accurately.
- Maintains confidentiality of client information.
- Follows established policies and procedures.
- Participates willingly in bank training.
- Compliance with all regulatory duties.
- Effective communication and relationship building with co‑workers and clients.
Requires handling stressful and fast‑paced situations while remaining calm and precise. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are essential. Willingness to travel to other branches is essential. Occasionally work longer hours than scheduled. Must manage deadlines, multi‑task, and adjust priorities. Must maintain confidentiality of employee and customer information. Provides an indoor office setting with light physical demands (up to 20 lbs, standing 50% of time).
Frequent computer use and interactions with staff, customers, and vendors. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel regionally.
- Education or certifications related to customer service or retail management is a plus; prior experience in a customer‑service or retail banking role is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency with retail software systems, POS terminals, and relevant technology platforms.
- Knowledge of banking products, services, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Efficient in multi‑tasking with strong problem‑solving skills.
- Maintain utmost confidentiality of client information.
- Resourceful, organized, and decisive decision‑making skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2 years in a customer‑facing capacity within banking, retail, or hospitality.
$18 – $20 per hour.
