RN Clinic Process & Training Coordinator

This role reports to the Director of Clinic operations and is responsible for assisting with programs and processes related to clinic workflows, continuous quality improvement, patient clinical outcomes, and being an electronic medical record superuser and trainer for all primary and specialty departments of the clinic. The RN Clinic Process/Training Coordinator will work alongside an LPN Process/Training Coordinator and collaboratively with and taking direction from clinic leaders to support standardization, improve and implement workflows, support change management, and on-board new staff, specifically RNs.

This role supports organizational goals by actively working with clinic leadership and providers on the development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental goals, initiatives, policies, and procedures.

Job Duties:

• Actively participates in and assists with monitoring and maintaining patient flow throughout the clinic and give feedback and suggestions for improvement to clinic leadership and work with them to form and put into place a plan of action.
• Facilitates and leads RN initial orientation and onboarding of new employees and enters requests for access.
• Performs daily rounding in units and attends morning huddles with staff in manager's absence to ensure efficient patient and staff workflows.
• Identifies opportunities for performance improvement and provides feedback for development of solutions to nursing leadership.
• Ensures the clinic processes are in line with The Joint Commission and trains staff to understand and follow the standards.
• Oversees the clinic's Ambulatory Care Composite quality program and the work that supports it.
• Oversees and actively participates in nurse skills training program for all clinic nurses, working alongside LPN Process & Training Coordinator on planning and presentation of information during meetings to achieve program success and compliance.
• Promotes change in a positive environment.
• Assists in resolution of patient complaints.
• Participates in the regularly scheduled department meetings and other facility meetings as directed by supervisor.
• Oversees Minnesota Free Vaccine (MFV) program for the clinic, acts as Grand Itasca Clinic's MIIC administrator and the clinic's role in Minnesota's Cancer Screening Program (SAGE).
• Tracks nursing certification status and ensures staff are up to date to avoid lapse in work.
• Works collaboratively with Grand Itasca Hospital Employee Education RN on training tactics and plans.
• Performs clinic and performance audits.
• Supports nursing staff as needed.

Qualifications:

• Current RN nursing licensure in the state of Minnesota.
• Minimum of 1-year leadership/supervisory experience preferred
• Minimum of 1-year of training experience, precepting or project/process implementation required.
• Current BLS certification or ability to complete within two months of employment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and organize workload; includes critical thinking, delegation skills, and demonstrated experience with problem solving required.
• Minimum of three years of nursing experience required; ambulatory experience in a health care setting preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and maintain positive working relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effectively provide direction in stressful and fast-paced work setting and during emergency situations.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze processes and problem solve barriers to efficiency.
• Demonstrated respectful, effective communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, families, and all other internal and external customers.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work with software that supports electronic medical record, immunizations, and Microsoft programs.
