Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our Anesthesiology team in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Grand Itasca is a fully integrated multi-specialty clinic and hospital located in Northern Minnesota.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: 1.00 FTE WORK SCHEDULE: Days, Evenings DEPARTMENT: Anesthesiology / Medical Staff

Practice Opportunity

Join an experienced Anesthesiology team providing a broad range of anesthesia services in an independent CRNA practice environment.

Practice highlights include:

  • Independent CRNA scope of practice
  • Diverse surgical and procedural case mix
  • Anesthesia services supporting general surgery, OB/GYN, orthopedics, urology, and endoscopy
  • Regional anesthesia, including ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks
  • Obstetric anesthesia, including epidural and intrathecal placement
  • Shared call rotation, including weekends and holidays
  • 1:7 call structure
  • Integrated clinic and hospital setting
  • Level III Trauma Center Emergency Department with historically more than 16,000 visits annually

Scope of Practice

CRNAs provide comprehensive anesthesia care throughout the perioperative period.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing pre-anesthetic patient evaluations
  • Selecting appropriate anesthetic agents and techniques
  • Inserting intravenous catheters and invasive monitoring catheters
  • Performing endotracheal intubation and extubation
  • Performing arterial punctures and interpreting arterial blood gases
  • Monitoring and managing patients' physiologic responses to anesthesia
  • Performing ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks
  • Performing epidural and intrathecal placement for obstetric anesthesia
  • Responding to emergencies throughout the hospital
  • Collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, surgical teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to provide safe, high-quality patient care

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program
  • Current certification or recertification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)
  • Current or ability to obtain Minnesota APRN licensure
  • Current or ability to obtain Minnesota RN licensure, as applicable
  • Ability to meet Grand Itasca Medical Staff credentialing and privileging requirements
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and other certifications as required for clinical privileges

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous CRNA experience in a hospital-based practice
  • Experience providing regional and obstetric anesthesia
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to practice independently
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions.
