Position Summary
Responsible for assisting with county land management, forestry and timber programs. Provides technical and professional assistance to district foresters, staff forester and other land department staff.

Work HoursThe normal hours of work shall be 40 hours per week, overtime as necessary and approved. Office hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Work LocationItasca County Land Department, 1177 LaPrairie Ave, Grand Rapids, MN and county‑wide field projects.

Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry, Forest Management or a related field (transcript required).
- Associate Degree in Forestry, Forest Management or a related field (transcript required) plus one year of forestry work experience, including timber sale preparation, administration, or forest inventory.
- One year of education (transcript) and/or GIS work experience.
- One year of education (transcript) and/or Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Additional work experience beyond the minimum in timber sale preparation, administration, or forest inventory.
- Experience with GIS beyond the minimum requirements.
- Graduate with a bachelor’s or higher degree in forestry, forest management or a related field.
- Graduate from an accredited forestry degree program by the Society of American Foresters (SAF).
