The Buyer Planner will be responsible for materials resource planning and procurement of specialized items in addition to executing complex buying strategies in accordance with agreed upon material buying plans at the optimum cost/quality relationship.

High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s degree, Operations or Business, preferred.

• 3+ years’ experience in purchasing, and supplier management or planning
• Experience in a Manufacturing environment
• APICS/CPP certification a plus

• Advanced knowledge of Supply Chain processes and Quality Control Principles
• Previous experience in Supplier Negotiation.
• Previous Experience in Oracle or SAP MRP II environment.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
• Strong knowledge of MRP (Material Requirements Planning), CRP (Continuous Replenishment Program) and MPS (Master Production Schedules).
• Experience with lean concepts/tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Kanban and Kaizen
• Understanding of production flow principles and processes
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work with many levels and types of people
• Good written, oral and presentation skills (communication)

• Manage the performance of an assigned group of suppliers and initiate the timely release of purchase orders for production materials, R&D Projects, Project Redesigns
• Supplier relationship management – Manage supplier performance using leading metrics such as PPV, Supplier OTD and Supplier Quality.
• Material Requirements Planning – Analyze current orders, historical data, and other records to determine the best source and setting for Oracle MRP replenishment requirements.
• ABC analysis, Safety stock management, Product life cycle management, Economic order quantity management, PFEP (Plan for Every Part)
