Under the supervision of the Comptroller, the Finance Manager is responsible for managing the accounts payable, banking, accounts receivable, and purchase order functions of the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne. These operational areas handle transactional information related to customers, suppliers, and staff. The Finance Manager ensures the efficient processing of transactions and the establishment of strong financial controls and governance. The position is also responsible for preparing, developing, and maintaining monthly key performance indicators for management reporting and escalation;

contributing to the development of financial policies and processes; driving continuous improvement and efficiency; assisting with interim and year‑end audits; liaising with external auditors; and supporting ad hoc project work as required.

• Five years of experience in a financial or accounting position.
• Experience in a supervisory role is considered an asset.
• Work experience in a government setting or First Nation organization is considered an asset.
• Two‑year post‑secondary degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a similar education.
