About the role
Ever dream about being in tech but aren’t quite ready to trade in your cowboy boots? Look no further than Halter. As the leading provider of virtual fencing technology, Halter is on a mission to enable 50% of the world’s landmass to be more productive and sustainable. This role is paramount for our growth and will enable us to continue impacting ranches across the Alberta region in Canada.
As a Territory Manager at Halter, you will drive new business growth and ensure customer success within your designated territory. You will execute sales strategies, build strong customer relationships, and meet ambitious growth targets, acting as Halter’s on‑the‑ground representative. This role requires a proactive, hands‑on approach with a focus on expansion and long‑term customer satisfaction. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including Product, Support, and Customer Onboarding, to share field insights and ensure Halter’s technology meets the needs of Canadian ranchers.
Your day‑to‑day could include being on horseback, helping customers gather their cattle, traveling in a side‑by‑side across pastures, discussing how Halter could benefit their operations, or attending industry events like Cattle Con or local Livestock Association meetups.
This role covers the North West region of Alberta. Frequent travel is required as part of this role.
What your day could look like
Prospecting New Business: You’ll drive prospecting efforts, attend local cattle events, meet with livestock associations, and build your new business pipeline through outbound lead generation. You’ll also handle inbound leads in a timely manner and balance administrative tasks with field activities.
In‑Field Sales: You’ll meet potential customers where they are, whether that’s at a kitchen table, in a saddle, or in a pasture. You’ll discuss Halter’s value and support customers during calving season.
Expanding Existing Opportunities: You’ll seek new opportunities within existing customers, expanding relationships and increasing value over time. You’ll tailor approaches to meet the needs of each rancher.
Hitting Sales Targets: You’ll manage a strong pipeline, qualify leads, and balance today’s deals with future opportunities.
Customer Account Management: You’ll maintain relationships post‑sale to ensure ongoing satisfaction, provide support, and assist with onboarding and deployment to maximize value from Halter’s solutions.
Territory Ownership: You’ll own your territory, representing Halter to stakeholders across local, state, and federal agricultural groups and building lasting regional relationships.
Customer Onboarding: You’ll lead end‑to‑end onboarding and deployment, ensuring a smooth transition from sales to implementation and coordinating with internal teams as needed.
Field Learnings & Feedback: You’ll be the primary point of contact for customer feedback in your territory, advocating for customer needs.
Collaborating with Support Teams: You’ll work with internal partners to resolve issues quickly and ensure customers feel supported.
Attending Industry Events: You’ll leverage events to generate leads and deepen relationships, including demonstrations and networking.
Contributing to the Canadian Sales Strategy: You’ll collaborate with the broader team to optimize the sales process for the Canadian market and help drive efficiencies as we scale.
You’ll be great if you exhibit
Driven Attitude & Communication skills: Results‑driven, adaptable, prepared, and proactive in customer and internal communications.
