A Day in the LifeAs a Junior Engineer/Scientist in Grande Prairie, you’ll be responsible for assisting multiple projects and will interact with multidisciplinary staff, regulatory agencies and clients. You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals.
The compensation range for this role is $25.00 to $34.00, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.
Responsibilities- Assist with the field coordination and execution of Phase II environmental site assessments, remediation and groundwater monitoring programs
- Support soil and vegetation assessments
- Participate in spill responses and associated clean‑up activities
- Travel as required to support field programs
- Prepare technical reports
- Assist with other service line projects when needed
- Excellent problem‑solving ability
- Ability to interface with cross‑functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Environmental, Engineering, Chemistry, or other related science
- 1–3 years of related experience
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within reporting structure
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Site safety certifications and familiarity with off‑road vehicles, half or three‑quarters‑ton trucks would be considered an asset
- A valid class5 driver’s license (or classG or equivalent) with no restrictions
Physical Requirements
- Sitting, standing, and walking
- Lifting 50 pounds several times a day
- Overhead lifting of over 20 pounds
- Works in an office environment when not deployed in the field
- Often works outdoors and may be exposed to hot and cold environments and extreme weather conditions, including sunlit, rainy and windy conditions
- Ability to travel up to 25%
