Junior Environmental Technologist or Scientist

As a Junior Engineer/Scientist in Grande Prairie, you’ll be responsible for assisting multiple projects and will interact with multidisciplinary staff, regulatory agencies and clients. You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals.

The compensation range for this role is $25.00 to $34.00, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

• Assist with the field coordination and execution of Phase II environmental site assessments, remediation and groundwater monitoring programs
• Support soil and vegetation assessments
• Participate in spill responses and associated clean‑up activities
• Travel as required to support field programs
• Prepare technical reports
• Assist with other service line projects when needed

• Excellent problem‑solving ability
• Ability to interface with cross‑functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Environmental, Engineering, Chemistry, or other related science
• 1–3 years of related experience
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within reporting structure
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Site safety certifications and familiarity with off‑road vehicles, half or three‑quarters‑ton trucks would be considered an asset
• A valid class5 driver’s license (or classG or equivalent) with no restrictions

• Lifting 50 pounds several times a day
• Overhead lifting of over 20 pounds
• Works in an office environment when not deployed in the field
• Often works outdoors and may be exposed to hot and cold environments and extreme weather conditions, including sunlit, rainy and windy conditions
• Ability to travel up to 25%
