Heavy Duty Mechanic

Position Description

Are you a Heavy-Duty Technician who enjoys working independently? We are seeking a full-time, permanent Heavy Duty Mechanic to serve as the primary technical resource for our Grande Prairie facility.

In this role, you will be the sole mechanic on-site, providing critical support for our northern operations. While you will report directly to the Mechanic Foreman in Blackfalds for technical guidance and fleet standards, you will work in close daily partnership with the Grande Prairie Yard Manager to ensure equipment is ready for the field.

• Fleet Maintenance:
  Take full responsibility for the routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of all assets assigned to northern operations.
• Operational Partnership:
  Work alongside the Yard Manager to prioritize repairs and ensure equipment is ready for dispatch.

  Collaboration:
  
  Partner with the Mechanic Foreman in Blackfalds to align on fleet standards, troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, and coordinate parts procurement for northern operations.
• Shop Management:
  Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment, managing your own workflow and parts inventory.
• Safety Integration:
  Ensure all maintenance activities comply with provincial regulations and company Safe Work Practices, actively participating in Tsunami’s safety culture.

• Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic (Red Seal Preferred) or Registered Apprentice
• Proven ability to work reliably with minimal on-site supervision.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean abstract.
• Possession of basic service tools required for the trade.
• Organized and self-motivated
