Heavy Equipment Operator

Enhance local infrastructure with the County of Grande Prairie as a Permanent Heavy Equipment Operator. This full-time role involves operating heavy machinery, primarily lowbed equipment, for essential projects.

The Transportation and Utilities, Operations East team is looking for skilled equipment operators to perform construction and maintenance duties across the region. Successful candidates will operate various machines, maintain safety protocols, and complete detailed work records. Collaborating with coworkers and treating the public respectfully are key aspects of this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment following safety standards

• Maintain machinery as per legal requirements

• Load trucks with equipment like backhoes

• Document work activities accurately

• Actively participate in safety meetings

Requirements:

• Class 1 driver’s license and a clean driving record

• Five years of experience in equipment operation

• Grade twelve diploma or equivalent is an asset

• Proper Equipment Operators license is a must

• Promote health and safety initiatives at work
