Heavy Equipment Operator

Sideworx Connect  offers positions for both employees and independent contractors. We specialize in placing short-term and seasonal employees, allowing you control over your schedule and a chance to explore a multitude of projects. We’re seeking skilled  Heavy Equipment Operators  to join our roster that have experience with excavators, bulldozers, graders, loaders, and other specialized equipment.

Responsibilities and Duties

Inspects equipment to ensure it is in safe operable condition and any servicing has been completed

Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures

Ensure company equipment and material is maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner

Properly reports any mechanical or safety problems with the equipment in accordance with company procedures

Proactively communicate with foreman, superintendent, and coworkers

Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation as required

Qualifications

2+ Years of Equipment Operating Experience

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a Driver’s Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits and no major infractions

Standard First Aid & CPR – Level C

H2S Alive

Common Safety Orientation

TDG

WHMIS

Loader Operator Certification

Drug and alcohol testing may be required

Working Conditions

Travel is required and certain jobs may be eligible for Living Out Allowance

Exposure to noise, dust, fumes and extreme weather conditions

Physically demanding with heavy lifting required (up to 50 lbs)

Willingness to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule (including night, weekends, holidays, and overtime)
