Heavy Equipment Operator

Become a pivotal member of the County of Grande Prairie as a Heavy Equipment Operator. This full-time role focuses on urban snow removal in winter and paving in summer, requiring skill in operating diverse heavy machinery.

The County of Grande Prairie seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator for its Transportation and Utilities department. This permanent position emphasizes safe operation of equipment like graders and snowblowers. Candidates with asphalt patching experience will excel. General labor duties may also be included as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate heavy equipment such as graders and loaders

• Maintain and secure equipment following policies

• Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors

• Participate in safety meetings regularly

• Engage with the public in a courteous manner

Requirements:

• Class 5 Driver's License and clean driving abstract

• Class 1 license preferred for specific equipment

• Experience in asphalt patching is an asset

• Ability to tow trailers

• Willingness to work long hours including weekends
