The Role
Grizzly Trek is seeking two Slickline Operators (Level
1) to join our valued client's team in Grande Prairie, Alberta. This is a full-time, entry level field position on a slickline crew. No previous experience is required and full training is provided.
You will run a 15 day on, 6 day off rotation, on call 24 hours a day while on shift. The work covers driving service equipment to and from the wellsite, assisting the crew with rig up and rig out, and keeping tools, equipment, and the shop in service ready condition. This is hands-on field work and a real entry point into the oilfield service industry.
What You’ll Do
Drive service equipment to and from the wellsite
Assist with rig up and rig out, which is physically demanding work in all weather
Service, clean, and maintain tools and equipment in the field and in the shop
Keep the shop organized and the equipment job ready between calls
Follow the direction of the supervisor on every job
Work to site safety procedures, permits, and hazard assessments
Stay available on call 24 hours a day through the 15 day rotation
What You Bring
Valid Class 3 driver's licence
A current driver's abstract
Valid Standard First Aid certification
Valid H2S Alive certification
Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and a physical fitness assessment
Physically able to handle demanding field work in all weather, including rig up and rig out
Willing to work a 15 day on, 6 day off rotation and be on call 24 hours while on shift
Able to travel and stay overnight outside Grande Prairie when a job requires it
Preferred Qualifications
Previous slickline, wireline, or oilfield service experience, which may qualify you for a higher level and higher pay
Experience driving heavy service units on lease roads and in winter conditions
Additional safety tickets such as Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry, or Ground Disturbance
Work Environment
This is field service work based out of Grande Prairie, Alberta. The rotation is 15 days on with 24 hour on call availability, followed by 6 days off. Most jobs are within reach of Grande Prairie. When a job takes you out of the area overnight, camp or hotel accommodation is provided for those nights. Rig up and rig out is physically demanding and happens in all weather.
Additional Information
This is an entry level position and no previous experience is required. Full training is provided. Your starting level is based on the experience you bring, and any related experience may qualify you for a higher position and a higher salary. From Operator 1 there is a defined path to Operator 2, Operator 3, and then Supervisor 1, 2, and 3.
