We are currently looking for a dedicated Heavy Duty Mechanic who will be responsible for the field maintenance and repair of a variety of Caterpillar engines and auxiliary equipment, based in the Grande Prairie area. If you are a safety conscious team player, self-motivated, autonomous, detail-oriented and possess your Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification with a valid driver’s license, then you are exactly who we are looking for!

• Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment in a field environment
• Interact with customers, product and sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
• Working with the supervisor on various tasks
• Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
• Complete technical documentation and reports

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician
• Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
• Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset
• Completion or be in the process of completing Finning S-level courses would also be considered an asset

• Availability to occasionally work out of town for a week
• Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.
• Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement

You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement.
