Role DescriptionThe Project Estimator role at Midwest Fencing Company is a full-time hybrid position based in Grandview, MO, with some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing project plans and specifications, conducting site visits as needed, and preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for fencing projects. The role involves analyzing materials, labor, and subcontractor costs, developing competitive bids, and customer management during the project.
The Project Estimator will communicate directly with clients and vendors, track estimate revisions, support budgeting for ongoing projects, and maintain organized records to ensure consistency and profitability across projects.
- Strong proficiency in Cost Management and Budgeting to prepare, track, and adjust project financials effectively.
- Hands‑on experience with Construction Estimating and Project Estimation in fencing, construction, or related fields.
- Clear and professional Communication skills for collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and clients.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, site conditions, and specifications to develop accurate scopes of work.
- Comfort using estimating software, spreadsheets, and basic project management tools.
- High attention to detail, strong numerical aptitude, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to perform occasional site visits in the local area.
- Previous experience in fencing, construction, or contracting is preferred; relevant technical or vocational training is beneficial.
