NOTE: This position is for the  school year. The salary will be based on the  salary schedule which is not yet approved by the Board of Education. The salary listed is based on the current year's salary schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Valid Missouri Teaching certification in Special Reading K-12
• Prior teaching experience

JOB GOAL:

To provide additional support to students in an effort to enhance and improve their reading skills

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Meet regularly with the building principal to inform him/her of student reading progress and strategies used.
• Provide both pull-out and push-in reading instruction to students needing additional support through use of district-provided resources.
• Lead the school-based Reading Success Plan team and process, according to state mandates for specific at-risk students, in collaboration with the building principal.
• Facilitate the Literacy Task assessment(s) for qualifying students and enter data into the testing platform.
• Participate in the district wide English Language Arts program to promote continuity and consistency in implementing the curriculum and instruction program.
• Keep abreast of current research and best practices.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and/or the building principal.

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $43,378 to $80,399 Per Year
