Special Education Coordinator
Qualifications:
- Certificate in Special Education or School Psychology
- Masters in Education in Special Education or Masters in related field, with knowledge of the Special Education Process
Reports to:
Director of Special Services
Job Goal:
Supports the coordination and implementation of programming to meet the unique needs of IDEA students in the district.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Support the training of new special education staff with composition and implementation of IEPs.
- Recommend programming and accommodation activities to both general and special education staff.
- Conduct academic assessments and/or observations for the purposes of initial or re-evaluation.
- Conduct workshops as needed with staff on special education best practices and strategies.
- Support building process coordinators and staff with Review of Existing Data documents.
- Comply with all IDEA timelines in the evaluation process of students.
- All other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Services
