Role OverviewAs a CAD Specialist at DAS Aviation, you will be the digital backbone of our aerospace manufacturing operation. You will transform complex engineering concepts into precise, manufacturable reality by creating, managing, and optimizing high‑fidelity 3D models and production‑ready drawings. This versatile position bridges the gap between design and production, supporting our shop floor, maintaining rigorous aerospace compliance, and providing critical backup CNC programming capabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Create and modify 3D models and drawings using CATIA
- Develop 3D models, flat patterns, and shop drawings using Autodesk Inventor
- Interpret and apply GD&T requirements to all drawings
- Ensure drawings meet aerospace and internal documentation standards
- Translate provided data into manufacturable shop documentation
- Maintain revision control and documentation accuracy
- Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams
- Support CNC programming as needed using Mastercam (backup role)
- Assist in resolving drawing‑related and manufacturability issues
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport (ideal but not mandatory)
3–5+ years CAD modeling and drawing experience
Required: strong proficiency in CATIA; strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor; strong understanding of GD&T and drawing standards; experience working from provided models and technical data; FAA Part 145 or AS9100 experience.
Preferred: familiarity with Mastercam; exposure to CNC machining processes.

- Well organized with high attention to detail, strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills, capable of working with minimal supervision
- Attend work every day as scheduled; notify supervisor in advance if unable to work; reliable transportation
- Shop products and/or services for competitive pricing; maintain high standards of certification and traceability of all parts and products purchased; analyze stock requirements to maintain mandated levels; follow all company and safety rules during duties
- Lifts 50 lbs
- Routine walking, bending and use of stairs
- Sits at a desk and/or computer for extended intervals
- Work with others in a professional manner
- Ability to create accurate drawings from 3D models
- Prioritize workload
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and electronic documentation systems
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
