SUMMARY
The Material Handler works to maintain plant inventory accuracy in relation to all color and materials used within the Molding department. They will be required to move materials using hand trucks and forklifts in and out of doors/racks and on the production floor.
This position is also responsible for maintaining color/regrind equipment and mixing materials for use within the Molding department. They will also assist in housekeeping within the department to maintain a safe work environment. The Material Handler position requires training and compliance with Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.

- Maintain color/regrind equipment as required or assigned.
- Read and review shop packets.
- Accurately scan all colorant and materials to orders and stage press side for use.
- Remove and collect scrap/purges from the Molding department floor for separation and recycling.
- Ensure accurate scanning of any and all colorant/material removed from warehouse.
- Maintain resin area and housekeeping based on established 5S standards.
- Assist with production operations as required, including color/order changes if directed by supervisor/lead.
- Transfer materials and color barrels to and from stock locations (following established Kanban system).
- Combine liquid color buckets and gaylord materials.
- Take silo readings and receive bulk material for silo when required.
- Empty regrind vacuums and keep liquid color pumps clean.
- Complete related paperwork and use computer to locate colorant/material locations.
- Work with various departments and complete required cycle count and physical inventory activities.

- Education and/or
Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent;
Must be able to operate forklift in accordance with OSHA regulations. - Language
Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. - Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage. - Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and sit, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, squat, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 58 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration.
