Job Summary: The Mill Shop Door Assembler is primarily responsible for safely, accurately, and efficiently assembling and preparing doors, frames, and other millwork products according to customer orders, measurements, and specifications. This position performs a variety of millwork and finish carpentry tasks, including cutting, measuring, assembling, trimming, and modifying wood and related materials. The Mill Shop Door Assembler uses hand and power tools to build and prepare quality finished products while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble interior and exterior doors, door frames, jambs, and other millwork products according to specifications and customer orders.
  • Measure, cut, trim, drill, and modify wood and other materials to required dimensions.
  • Perform basic trim and finish carpentry work.
  • Install or prepare hinges, hardware, and other door components as required.
  • Read and follow measurements, work orders, diagrams, and product specifications.
  • Operate saws, drills, nail guns, routers, and other hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect completed products for accuracy, workmanship, and quality before they leave the shop.
  • Load, unload, move, and organize doors, lumber, millwork products, and other materials.
  • Assist customers and coworkers with loading materials when needed.
  • Maintain an organized and safe work area and follow all company safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills, Knowledge, and

Qualifications:
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders, and product specifications.
  • Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry, millwork, door assembly, and/or trim work preferred.
  • Experience using hand and power tools, including saws, drills, nail guns, and other woodworking equipment preferred.
  • Ability to perform accurate measurements, cuts, and assembly work.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality finished products.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and complete work within established deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary company and customer information.
  • Ability to safely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new products, equipment, and assembly techniques.
