Responsibilities
- Provide support to the instructional process by serving as a teacher with responsibility for supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas.
- Develop lesson plans and deliver group and individual student instruction.
- Collaborate with other teachers, professional staff, and administrators to improve the education of Grandview students.
- Respond to a wide range of inquiries from students' parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.
- Salary: $57,166 – $112,732 (salary dependent upon education and experience).
- M/D/V insurance, life insurance, retirement benefits, paid sick leave, and paid time off and/or vacation.
- Working days: 5 days per week / 180 days per year.
- Hours per day: 7 hours.
- Position anticipated start date: 2026‑2027 school year (1 year temporary position).
- Education:
Bachelors from an accredited college or university in a job‑related area. - Experience:
Experience working with children and families of varied cultural backgrounds preferred; experience teaching mathematics at the high school level preferred. - Licenses/Certificates/Registration:
Washington State Teaching Certificate, endorsed in Mathematics (Secondary) with additional endorsements preferred. Must meet WA State Certification Criteria. - Minimum qualifications:
Relates well with students, parents and peers; excellent classroom control; willingness and ability to work in a team environment; willingness and ability to work at district and building level in developing curriculum; enthusiastic, creative and resourceful motivator of students; willingness to work with students outside the classroom (e.g., club advisor, class advisor); present a neat, clean, professional appearance at all times;
goal‑oriented (long‑range and short‑range).

Grandview is nestled in the lower Yakima Valley, a productive agricultural region noted for fruit, wine and hop production. The community also sees over 300 days of sunshine per year.
WorkEnvironment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and some fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 30% sitting, 40% walking, and 30% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard‑free environment.
