What You'll Be Doing
- Providing support to the instructional process by serving as a teacher, supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas.
- Developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction.
- Collaborating with other teachers, professional staff and administrators to address and improve the education of Grandview students.
- Responding to inquiries from students’ parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.
- Working days: 5 days per week
- Hours per day: 5 hours
- Temporary for the Summer Migrant Jump Start Program:
July 20, 2026 - August 7, 2026 - Maximum of 3 positions
- Salary: $45.00 per hour or per diem, whichever is lower
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a job-related area. - Experience:
Experience as a teacher or summer school teacher. - Licenses/Certificates/Registration:
Washington State Teaching Certificate; must meet WA State Certification Criteria. - Minimum qualifications:
- Relates well with students, parents and peers.
- Excellent classroom control.
- Willingness and ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work at district and building level in developing curriculum.
- Enthusiastic, creative and resourceful motivator of students.
- Professional appearance at all times.
- Goal oriented (long‑range and short‑range).
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, some climbing and balancing, some stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling, and some fine finger dexterity. The job requires 30% sitting, 40% walking and 30% standing in a generally hazard-free environment.
