Warranty Management
  • Manage equipment warranties for inverters, AR1.1 tracking, BOS components, and balance‑of‑plant infrastructure.
  • Maintain detailed warranty documentation and coordinate with manufacturers on coverage terms.
  • Investigate and process warranty claims for equipment failures, installation workmanship, or performance deficiencies.
  • Interface with clients, manufacturers, and trade partners on warranty‑related issues.
Commissioning & Testing
  • Develop and execute comprehensive commissioning plans for PV arrays, electrical systems, balance of system (BOS), and related infrastructure.
  • Coordinate system testing including inverter performance verification, string testing, grounding continuity, and safety equipment functionality.
  • Oversee thermal imaging, I‑V curve testing, and other diagnostic procedures to validate system performance.
  • Document all test results, create punch list items, and drive closure with manufacturers and trade contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC), local utility interconnection standards, and equipment manufacturer specifications.
Project Documentation & Closeout
  • Compile equipment installation QA/QC documentation, performance reports, and O&M manuals into final project deliverables.
  • Coordinate with Engineer of Record to develop as‑built documentation and system drawings reflecting actual installation conditions.
  • Coordinate client training and system familiarization sessions with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Lead final walk‑throughs with owners and ensure punch list completion.
Coordination & Reporting
  • Communicate project status and issues to project management, clients, and executive stakeholders.
  • Identify and escalation scope, schedule, and cost impacts related to warranty or commissioning activities.
  • Support proposal development by providing realistic commissioning timelines and resource requirements.
  • Mentor project teams on commissioning best practices and system performance expectations.
Required Knowledge, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities
  • 5+ years of experience in solar construction, O&M, commissioning, or related field—or equivalent combination of solar industry experience and project engineering background.
  • Working knowledge of utility‑scale or C&I solar systems, including PV modules, inverters, electrical balance of system, and mounting equipment.
  • Hands‑on experience with commissioning workflows, system testing procedures, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one‑line diagrams, and equipment specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple documentation streams and timelines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Physical capability to work in outdoor construction environments.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to active construction sites as needed.
  • Knowledge of energy storage systems or hybrid solar‑plus‑storage projects.
  • Track record managing warranty claims or working directly with equipment manufacturers.
  • Project management certification (PMP, CAPM) or equivalent professional credential.
  • Experience with project controls systems or construction management software (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud, Primavera P6, or Barton Malow's internal platforms).
