Supplier Quality Engineer | Grandville, MI

Salary Range: $80,000 - $113,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Grandville that are seeking Supplier Quality Engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement supplier quality improvement plans.
• Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Investigate and resolve supplier quality issues using problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys).
• Collaborate with engineering and purchasing teams on new product development and supplier selection.
• Monitor and report on key supplier quality performance metrics.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for the supplier quality management system.
• Review and approve supplier PPAP submissions and other quality documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and support to suppliers on quality-related matters.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• 3+ years experience in supplier quality or quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
• Proficient in core quality tools (e.g., FMEA, PPAP, SPC, MSA, 8D).
• Demonstrated experience conducting supplier audits and driving corrective actions.

Bonus Qualifications

• ASQ certifications (e.g., CSQE, CQE, CSSGB)
• Experience with advanced quality planning tools (e.g., APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC)
• Familiarity with a variety of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, casting, injection molding, welding)
• Experience with supplier development programs and continuous improvement initiatives
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP, Excel)
